This is great news. I have the KX3 and The KAT500 on order as kits.
If your prices are favourable then I will cancel those orders and order from W & S.

That’s great news.I only hope Waters and Stanton can give the same service as Elecraft.

I am pleased to see that Elecraft equipment will be available from a UK source. I have bought a lot of stuff from Elecraft directly in the past five years or so including the K3 I still own, My only concern is how competitive W&S pricing will be. Currently the QRP Project qrp.de in Germany is selling Elecraft gear, but at up 20% dearer in real terms than I can buy directly from Elecraft, even taking into account shipping, Parcelforce release fee, VAT etc. As a consequence, I have ordered the new KX3 directly from the US, even though I know that qrp.de offers a two year warranty.
I wish W&S good luck with this venture, but hope that prices will be fair.

This is great news. I have been buying from Elecraft direct for 12 years and have never had any problems, but I have been lucky never to have had a faulty radio. When comparing prices, buyers should factor in the convenience and cost-saving of being able to ship the radio back to Hockley instead of California.
Stephen Prior Says:
Having done a recalculation of Elecraft versus QRP Project prices with all expenses taken into account, I now see that for the KX3 for example, with the exchange rates as they currently stand, it is just cheaper to buy from Germany. When will we see prices from W&S? Will there be a two year warranty too?

I have been an Elecraft customer for some years. They have an excellent and developing range of products and I have found their direct customer and technical service to be the best and quickest I have ever encountered in the amateur radio field or, come to that, any other field. Their prices are highly competitive. It will be interesting to see if Waters and Stanton can work to the same high standards.
Ian Shepherd Says:
Great news! Well done W&S! I have many products from Elecraft and I hope to be able to obtain spares, service and or add-ons from W&S. Let us hope that the dreaded £1=$1 will not abound – albeit that the base price has to be infalated by carriage ( not cheap) and VAT @20% to give a fair. I look forward to hearing more……….
Come on Mark! do us a deal to die for!
Bill Shaw, G0STR Says:
Will be interesting to see prices and also which Elecraft products will be sold. Currently have a K2.

Yet another reason to venture from my qth to visit hockley…….g7fqg
Charles Says:
When will you have the KX3 in stock and how much will it cost me?
John G3YOU Says:
Good that there is an Elecraft agent in UK
It will only stay good if your prices are the virtually the same that Elecraft charge including tax and shipping. Most US equipment available here is not competitive. US Dollars should not equal a British Pound. Prove me wrong this time. Otherwise I will order direct from USA.

Like a lot of people here, I agree this is exciting news. I have been considering the KX3 for a while myself, but call me old fashioned, I like to see something before I pay hundreds of pounds on it. If the pricing is competitive, I will be joining the queue.
